Membership FAQs
Membership Card Policy
It is our policy that ALL members show current membership cards every time they use the facility. This is not meant to cause an inconvenience but a protection for our members. With approximately 10,000 members, it is very difficult to remember each membership expiration date. We appreciate your cooperation.
Management
An elected Board of Trustees governs the Cottonwood Heights Parks and Recreation Service Area. This Board is comprised of three members who are residents of the community. They are responsible for budget, taxes, goals, policies and procedures and generally meet in a public session on the third Wednesday of each month in the Board Room. To have items of interest placed on the agenda, contact Lyse' Durrant at 801.943.3190 ext.102 for details and time.
Renewal Rates
These will be the same as the current rates but will reflect a 5% discount if renewed on or before your membership expiration date. Membership ID cards are provided with each new membership. Replacement cards are available for $5.00 each.
Membership Upgrades
There must be at least 6 months remaining on your membership in order to upgrade to another level. Example: Basic to Premium, Premium to Ultimate, Single to Couple or Single to Family.
Why do Residents Receive a Discount?
On June 22, 1967, citizens within the Cottonwood Heights area voted to pay additional property taxes in order to build a community recreation facility. To this day, the Cottonwood Heights Parks and Recreation Service Area is supported partially through the funds collected for this purpose. Residents living within the designated Service Area boundaries are entitled to a membership discount because of paying additional property taxes for these parks and recreation services. An elected Board of Trustees regulates and distributes the funds.
